Today, Logan and I from Cyberstorm.mu had a fun session with the students at UDM, talking about Post-Quantum Cryptography and how computers are getting more powerful. We wanted to give them an idea of what’s coming next in tech.
The session started at 11:30, and we had over 40 students join us. We introduced ourselves, shared what we do, and talked about how we help improve security in the IT world. We also spoke about other cool tech topics we cover, like Linux, Cloud Computing, and the tools we use every day.
Logan explained what operating systems run behind big platforms like Google, Instagram, and Facebook, OS such as BSD, FreeBSD, and Linux. He also shared some basic Linux commands we use in our work, like ls -l
, mv
, and cp
.
We also talked about how important it is to have a personal blog and a GitHub account. These help you stand out when applying for jobs anywhere in the world. The first thing many companies do is look you up on Google, so if they can’t find you online, it might be harder to get that job.
For anyone passionate about tech, it’s important to show that you’re always learning and staying up-to-date, not just looking for a job. The more you learn and grow, the better your chances of success.
I also reminded them that learning every day is key to achieving anything. As your knowledge grows, so do your opportunities.
Stay tuned for the next blog post!
